Nvidia launches BioNeMo Agent Toolkit for life sciences research

Nvidia launched the BioNeMo Agent Toolkit, a platform providing AI agents with specialized tools for life sciences research across biology, chemistry, genomics, and drug discovery. The toolkit incorporates over a decade of Nvidia's life sciences libraries and models, powered by NIM microservices, Parabricks, NeMo, and Nemotron technologies, and is already in use by more than 50 companies at launch. Anthropic and OpenAI are integrating the toolkit into their platforms, while Eli Lilly, Snowflake, Databricks, and Thermo Fisher are among the adopters using it to advance drug discovery and clinical workflows. A collaboration with the University of Washington's Institute for Protein Design has delivered 2x faster performance for biodesign models including RosettaFold3 compared to the prior-generation model. Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang described the toolkit as the scientific toolbox for frontier models, enabling agents to run virtual screening for drug candidates, perform genomic analysis, design protein binders, and process medical imaging data, compressing workflows that previously took days into minutes. Nvidia noted that global scientific R&D spending has reached $3.8 trillion, with annual pharmaceutical budgets approaching $300 billion, framing the addressable opportunity for agentic life sciences tooling.
