Repligen shares dropped after earnings release, Brown Capital says

Repligen Corporation saw its stock price decline steadily and then drop sharply following its February 24 earnings release, according to Brown Capital Management's first-quarter 2026 investor letter. The market reacted poorly to Repligen's initial 2026 financial guidance, which called for 10% to 14% reported revenue growth and 9% to 13% organic growth, signaling a deceleration from the 14% organic growth achieved in the fourth quarter. Brown Capital views the sell-off as an overreaction and still considers Repligen an emerging growth company, citing its differentiated products, expanding portfolio, and exposure to the growing biologics market. Repligen reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of $194 million, a 15% year-over-year increase, and closed at $126.37 per share on June 23, 2026, with a market capitalization of $7.13 billion.

Repligen Slid on Softened Enthusiasm for Life Sciences Tools

Repligen Corporation detracted most from the Osterweis Opportunity Fund's relative returns in the first quarter of 2026 as enthusiasm for life-sciences tools softened. The fund returned negative 3.78 percent in the quarter, compared to negative 2.81 percent for the Russell 2000 Growth Index. The firm attributed the sector-wide pressure to a slowdown in purchasing by the National Institutes of Health, though it noted Repligen has no exposure to NIH and offered bullish first-quarter guidance. Repligen shares closed at $132.02 on June 18, 2026, with a one-month return of 14.74 percent and a 52-week gain of 11.08 percent, and the company reported first-quarter revenue of $194 million, up 15 percent year over year. Osterweis expects sentiment surrounding life-sciences tools to improve in the second quarter, which could reverse the negative momentum.
