Las Vegas Sands Q2 Earnings Miss Estimates on Low Macao Hold

Las Vegas Sands reported second-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings per share of 59 cents, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 77 cents by 23.4%, while net revenues of $3.15 billion fell 6.4% short of the $3.37 billion consensus and declined 0.7% year over year. The company attributed the weakness to unusually low rolling-play hold in Macao, which reduced Macao adjusted property EBITDA by $87 million, even as gaming volumes increased across all Macao segments and Marina Bay Sands mass gaming revenues rose 5% to $886 million. Consolidated adjusted property EBITDA declined 16.1% to $1.12 billion, operating income fell to $618 million from $783 million, and net income dropped to $373 million from $519 million. The board subsequently increased the share repurchase authorization to $6 billion and extended the program to July 21, 2029. Analysts have since revised estimates downward, and the stock carries a Zacks Rank #5, or Strong Sell.

Macau gaming revenue falls 8.4% in July on World Cup and typhoon disruptions

Macau gross gaming revenue fell 8.4% year over year in July to 20.3 billion patacas, or 2.5 billion dollars, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. Las Vegas Sands Trades at $46.08, Narrative Fair Value Pegged at $66.33

Las Vegas Sands reported lower second quarter 2026 revenue and net income compared with a year earlier, while continuing heavy spending on resort upgrades. The stock closed at $46.08, down 29.34% year to date, with a one-year total shareholder return decline of 10.32%. A narrative analysis pegs fair value at $66.33, implying the stock is 30.5% undervalued, driven by expectations for The Londoner in Macao and record EBITDA at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. However, a discounted cash flow model estimates fair value at $38.97, suggesting the stock is overvalued on that basis. The company faces ongoing pressure in Macao margins and competition in the premium mass segment.

Las Vegas Sands keeps $700 million quarterly Macau EBITDA goal while Marina Bay Sands expansion stays on track for early 2031

Las Vegas Sands reiterated its target of reaching $700 million in quarterly EBITDA in Macau over time, even as second-quarter 2026 EBITDA for its Macau operations came in at $430 million, negatively impacted by an exceptionally low VIP rolling hold of 1.35%. Chairman, CEO, President and Treasurer Patrick Dumont said the quarter does not represent the true earnings power of the properties, citing the hold and a World Cup-related dip in high-value patron visitation. At Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, EBITDA was $689 million for the quarter, with mass gaming revenues up 5% compared to the second quarter of 2025, and the expansion project remains on track to open early in 2031, subject to government approvals. The company repurchased $787 million of LVS stock during the quarter, paid a recurring quarterly dividend of $0.30 per share, and saw its Board of Directors increase the repurchase authorization to $6 billion. A multi-year renovation of all 2,900 rooms and suites at The Venetian Macao is underway, with completion targeted by Chinese New Year 2028, and operating expense growth is expected to level off in the second half of 2026.
