The company was formerly known as Avex Group Holdings Inc. and changed its name to Avex Inc. in November 2017. Avex Inc. was incorporated in 1973 and is based in Tokyo, Japan.

Game and entertainment stocks in morning trade: Takara Tomy, Avex, and others hit year-to-date highs; Silicon Studio rebounds sharply on advisor appointment

On the morning of July 21, the Nikkei Stock Average rebounded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, ending the morning session up 1,114.56 yen at 65,255.68 yen. Among the 99 registered game and entertainment-related stocks, 72 rose, with buying dominating. Takara Tomy, Avex, and Mandarake hit year-to-date highs. Silicon Studio announced that Noriyuki Sawatani, president of AEROSALVA, which is developing next-generation search and rescue systems, has been appointed as an advisor, and the stock rebounded sharply. Nintendo fell back on selling into strength, while Toho rose for a third straight day, with the company explaining that despite a 28 percent decline in first-quarter operating profit to 13.8 billion yen, it was effectively an increase in profit.
