Silicon Studio Corporation develops game engine and middleware products in Japan and internationally. It operates through two segments, development promotion and support business and human resources business. The company offers YEBIS, an optical effects middleware; Enlighten, process global illumination in real time while minimizing the load on GPU; Mizuchi, the real-time rendering engine used in gaming and virtual reality (VR), video and animation, product and architectural visualization, etc.; Motion Portrait, a CG technology to create facial animation from a digital photo; and Enlighten, a lighting technology that delivers real-time global illumination over mobile, desktop, and VR platforms. It offers human resource services comprising development, consulting, outsourcing, and staffing, including temporary, temporary-to-permanent, and full-time placement services. In addition, it offers various solutions comprising training image solutions for machine learning; game engine use in the industrial field; 3D digital twin/industrial metaverse; urban space visualization; design review solution; driving simulator compatible solution; digital twin solutions using point clouds and photogrammetry; online, cloud development solutions; and game development environment construction support. The company was incorporated in 1999 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Silicon Studio reports operating loss of 185 million yen in Q2, revises full-year forecast downward

Silicon Studio announced its cumulative second-quarter results for the fiscal year ending November 2026. Revenue fell 13.8 percent year-on-year to 1.909 billion yen, and the company posted an operating loss of 185 million yen. In the development promotion and support business, an order loss provision was recorded due to expected losses on 3DCG video production projects received last fiscal year, causing the segment profit to drop to zero. Revenue in the human resources business declined 5.9 percent to 789 million yen, and segment profit decreased 10.6 percent to 138 million yen. In response, the company revised its full-year forecast downward, now projecting revenue of 4.231 billion yen, an operating loss of 200 million yen, and a net loss of 228 million yen.
