The company operates in two segments, Construction Machinery Business and Specialized Parts and Service Business. It offers excavators and wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, compaction equipment, and rigid dump trucks. The company also provides ICT construction solutions; ConSite that monitors machines' operational status and alarms by sending monthly operational reports, as well as notifies emergency alarms; Fleet Management System, which offers real-time monitoring of dump truck for optimizing vehicle operations; and Autonomous Haulage System for mining operations. In addition, it provides parts and services; used equipment under the PREMIUM USED brand; machinery rental services under the PREMIUM RENTAL and REC brand names; and parts remanufacturing services. The company was incorporated in 1951 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Hitachi Construction Machinery sees sharp profit surge in Q1 FY2027 and raises full-year guidance

Hitachi Construction Machinery reported record first-quarter revenue for fiscal year 2027 of 329.1 billion yen, while quarterly profit attributable to owners of the parent jumped 148.6 percent year on year to 28 billion yen. Adjusted operating profit came to 34.4 billion yen, up 55.7 percent, and pre-tax quarterly profit was 43.9 billion yen, up 123.3 percent. Full-year guidance was raised to revenue of 1.47 trillion yen, adjusted operating profit of 150 billion yen, and profit attributable to owners of the parent of 84 billion yen. The main reason for the upward revision was a weaker yen than assumed, while volume assumptions remain cautious, with a slight year-on-year decline expected. The share price has risen 12.2 percent over the past month, closing at 6,005 yen on August 24.
