Fatal accident at Shanxi Coking Coal's Xiqu Mine halts production just one week after restart
A safety incident occurred on August 5 at the Xiqu Mine owned by Shanxi Coking Coal, resulting in one fatality. The mine has now been shut down. Xiqu Mine has an approved annual capacity of 2.7 million tonnes, accounting for 5.67% of the listed company's total approved capacity. The mine had just resumed production on July 30 after renewing its licenses, only to be halted again a week later due to the accident. In addition, the company's Zhenchengdi Mine and Ximing Mine remain suspended due to expired licenses. Their combined approved annual capacity is 5.5 million tonnes, representing 11.55% of the company's total capacity. Shanxi Coking Coal stated that it will carry out safety inspections and rectifications following the accident, and the specific impact of the shutdown on the company's operating data will be subject to the audited financial report.
