Bouygues reports strong first-half 2026 results, confirms full-year outlook

Bouygues posted a very solid first-half 2026 performance with group net profit surging to 287 million euros, up 114 million euros year-on-year, despite a second consecutive year of an exceptional surtax on large French companies. Group revenue reached 26.3 billion euros, down 1.3 percent at constant exchange rates, while current operating profit from activities rose to 829 million euros, a 33 million euro increase. The improvement was driven by a sharp margin expansion at Equans, where the margin reached 5.2 percent, up 1.2 points, more than offsetting expected declines at Bouygues Telecom and TF1. Net financial debt improved significantly to 6.5 billion euros at end-June 2026, a 2 billion euro reduction year-on-year. The group confirmed its 2026 targets of stable revenue at constant exchange rates and maintaining current operating profit from activities at a historically high level, with Equans now aiming for a full-year margin of at least 5.2 percent.

Netflix brings TF1 live channels into its app for the first time

Netflix and TF1 Group have launched live channels and integrated on-demand French content within the Netflix app, marking the first time TF1 linear channels appear on Netflix and Netflix's first distribution of a third party's live channels. The collaboration focuses on French programming and aims to blend traditional broadcast content with streaming access in one platform. For investors, this move adds a new layer to Netflix's historically subscription-based, on-demand streaming business, as global platforms experiment with new formats and regional content partnerships. The outcome could influence how Netflix allocates content spending between licensed partnerships and in-house programming, and how it positions the service against traditional broadcasters and other streaming platforms.
