Silo Pharma Granted European Patent for PTSD Prevention Therapy

Silo Pharma has been granted a European patent covering the preventative approach of its lead candidate SPC-15, a novel intranasal treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder and stress-induced affective disorders. The European Patent Office issued European Patent No. EP3952852, titled “Prophylactic Efficacy of Serotonin 4 Receptor Agonists Against Stress,” which covers methods of preventing stress-induced fear and depressive-like behavior by administering selected serotonin 4 receptor agonists before stress exposure. Silo holds an exclusive license for the patent from Columbia University. The new patent expands the intellectual property portfolio for SPC-15 and complements protection granted and pending in five other major global markets. CEO Eric Weisblum stated that the patent strengthens the company’s IP moat around a differentiated approach targeting stress resilience rather than symptom management.
