Bank OZK Could Be 4% Undervalued After Earnings

Bank OZK reported second quarter 2026 results, providing fresh data on earnings, interest income, and loan trends. The stock closed at $50.12, which is about 4.2% below a narrative fair value of $52.33, suggesting a modest undervaluation. The company benefits from population migration and economic growth in Sun Belt regions, supporting expansion in real estate, commercial, and business lending. However, heavy commercial real estate exposure and higher costs from expansion plans pose risks if credit stress or slower loan growth materialize. The stock saw a 1.67% decline on the day and a 5.59% decline over the past week, though the 5-year total shareholder return stands at 45.03%.
