Ovintiv Raises Full-Year Production Guidance, Boosts Share Buybacks After Strong Second Quarter
Ovintiv reported second quarter 2026 cash from operating activities of $1.6 billion and Non-GAAP Free Cash Flow of $682 million, while raising its full-year production guidance and increasing shareholder returns. The company produced 615 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, above the high end of its guidance, including oil and condensate volumes of 206 thousand barrels per day. Ovintiv closed the sale of its Anadarko assets for approximately $2.82 billion, reducing Net Debt to $2.995 billion and achieving a Net Debt to Adjusted EBITDA ratio of 0.6 times. The company returned about 63% of second quarter Non-GAAP Free Cash Flow to shareholders through $345 million in share repurchases and $84 million in dividends, and expects full-year 2026 shareholder returns to exceed 60% of Non-GAAP Free Cash Flow. Full-year production guidance was raised to 630 to 645 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day, driven by higher expected oil and condensate output, while capital investment guidance remains unchanged at $2.25 billion to $2.35 billion.
