Monacoin is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency that normally produces blocks roughly every one minute and thirty seconds, but as of 8:30 p.m. on August 5, the latest block had been generated at 3:59 p.m. that day, meaning no new blocks had been produced for about four hours and thirty minutes. A subsequent block was generated at 8:36 p.m., but the interval was significantly longer than usual, and the cause and recovery outlook remain unclear.
