Internet Thailand Public Company Limited, or INET, reported its second quarter 2026 results at an Opportunity Day event, with total revenue from sales and services of 876.58 million baht, up 13% from the same period last year. Cumulative VMI count stood at 117,077 VMIs, reflecting expansion of its cloud and digital infrastructure business driven by steadily rising domestic demand for digital infrastructure, especially from government and private sectors that prioritize domestic data storage, processing, management, and data security. Internet Thailand Public Company Limited, or INET, together with the Ministry of Education and 14 partner agencies, has signed a memorandum of understanding on academic cooperation to drive the Education ID and Learner ID digital identity system as a central digital infrastructure for Thailand's education system. The signing ceremony took place on 27 July 2026 at the Khurusapha Auditorium, with Mr. Prasert Chantarawongthong, Minister of Education, presiding. This collaboration aims to develop Education ID and Learner ID as a central standard for authenticating and verifying the identities of learners, teachers, educational personnel, and members of the public accessing services from educational agencies, enabling the use of a single digital identity throughout the learning journey. The system will help reduce data redundancy and the burden of registering for multiple systems, while improving data quality to be accurate, standardized, and capable of automatic linkage or exchange between agencies, supporting continuous and seamless educational services. It also emphasizes data governance in accordance with data governance principles, personal data protection under the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562, and compliance with digital government laws and standards. The Ministry of Education stated that Education ID and Learner ID will serve as a digital identity card for learners in Thailand's education system and a key mechanism for linking educational data and services under a unified standard.

INET has announced it is pressing ahead with the expansion of its local cloud and data centre business to meet rising demand from all industries. The company is highlighting its strength as a Thai sovereign cloud provider, with all data stored and processed entirely within the country, addressing the data sovereignty requirements of government agencies and large organisations. It currently serves more than 6,000 customers and expects to grow that base to 8,000. INET operates two data centre facilities in Bangkok with a combined capacity of about 8 megawatts, and main data centres in Saraburi and Khon Kaen with around 20 megawatts. A fourth data centre is under development in Khon Kaen, and the company is scouting locations for a fifth. It is targeting sustained earnings growth of 20 percent per year, supported by data sovereignty and the digital economy.
