GeoVax Highlights Moderna-Merck Phase 3 Data Supporting Gedeptin Strategy

GeoVax Labs highlighted positive Phase 3 results from Moderna and Merck's intismeran autogene plus KEYTRUDA combination in resected high-risk melanoma, calling it clinical validation for its planned Gedeptin plus KEYTRUDA study. The INTerpath-001 trial met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival and a key secondary endpoint of distant metastasis-free survival, showing statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements over KEYTRUDA alone. GeoVax believes the success reinforces the broader paradigm of combining checkpoint inhibition with therapies that generate or enhance anti-tumor immune responses, directly supporting its Gedeptin development strategy. Gedeptin uses a gene-directed enzyme prodrug therapy to destroy tumors locally and prime the tumor microenvironment, and published preclinical research showed enhanced anti-tumor immune responses when combined with anti-PD-1 therapy. GeoVax is preparing the next phase of Gedeptin clinical development in combination with KEYTRUDA for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
