Cirrus Logic reported record first-quarter fiscal 2027 results with revenue of $460 million, up 13% year over year, and non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.84. Management cited strong demand for custom boosted amplifiers and smart codecs, and said the product pipeline across audio and high-performance mixed-signal businesses is the strongest in years. For the second quarter, the company expects revenue of $510 million to $570 million, GAAP gross margin of 52% to 54%, and non-GAAP operating expenses of $140 million to $146 million. Cirrus Logic also secured dedicated wafer capacity and pricing with GlobalFoundries for 2027 and 2028, and plans to begin sampling a new family of analog front-end products for smart meters in the September quarter.

Cirrus Logic has received a research and development grant from Scottish Enterprise to support the development of next-generation smart energy technology and expand advanced engineering activities in Scotland. The funding supports development of a new metrology analogue front-end platform that delivers high-accuracy energy measurement and metrology calculations for smart power metering applications, targeting residential, commercial, and industrial energy metering as well as EV charging, data centre DC metrology, energy storage, and grid monitoring. The investment reinforces Cirrus Logic's long-standing commitment to Scotland, where the company has built its largest engineering operations outside of the United States. As part of the project, Cirrus Logic has expanded its collaboration with the University of Strathclyde's Institute for Energy and Environment on research contributing to optimal energy management by utility and infrastructure providers. The project is scheduled to run through 2028.

Cirrus Logic introduced a new family of nine audio converters, including ADCs, DACs, and CODECs, aimed at professional and prosumer markets. The devices are designed to provide high-performance audio technology at an optimized price point for mid-tier applications such as musical instruments, podcast interfaces, mixing consoles, and studio equipment. The new portfolio features enhanced analog capabilities, including hybrid gain control, which helps designers improve audio performance by reducing input-referred noise without increasing system complexity. These additions provide engineers with greater flexibility to differentiate their products while maintaining cost-effective designs across diverse audio equipment lines. By expanding its converter portfolio, Cirrus Logic enables manufacturers to scale advanced audio features across multiple product tiers, complementing the company's existing high-performance families.

Qorvo posted a 39.48% EPS beat at $1.69 and a 670-basis-point gross margin expansion to 52.6%, while Skyworks Solutions, down 22.29% over the past year, reported a 10.10% EPS beat at $1.15 and expects a multi-generational Android design win to generate over $1.00 billion in revenue through 2030.
