European stocks post first weekly drop in five weeks, bonds also fall as Middle East concerns intensify
European stocks fell for the first week in five, and government bonds were also sold off. Concerns over the Middle East intensified after US President Trump indicated a willingness to continue talks with Iran while also signaling an end to the ceasefire. The Stoxx 600 index briefly fell as much as 0.3 percent before paring losses. EasyJet surged 14 percent after Apollo made a takeover offer topping Castlelake.
