Amazon Web Services has launched a new Forward Deployed Engineering team backed by a $1 billion investment to help customers quickly build and deploy AI systems. The unit will place thousands of AWS engineers directly inside client organizations to develop and implement AI agents and tailored solutions, aiming to deliver functional systems within weeks. AWS Vice President Francessca Vasquez said the initial group will work in small teams alongside clients' business, engineering, and security staff, with the investment coming entirely from Amazon's own resources.
