According to the Nikkei, Apple announced on the 26th that it will hold a new product launch event at 2 a.m. Japan time on September 10 (10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 9). The report suggests that the company is expected to unveil its first foldable model of its flagship smartphone, the iPhone. In response, Apple-related companies such as Murata Manufacturing, TDK, Taiyo Yuden, and Nitto Denko are likely to attract attention.

Nitto Denko will invest 28 billion yen in manufacturing circuit boards for hard disk drives by fiscal 2028, Nikkei reported, and the company's shares rebounded after four days of declines. It will spend 15 billion yen on adding production lines at its Vietnam plant and the remaining 13 billion yen on automation and digitalization at each site, raising production capacity by 40 percent compared with fiscal 2025. The company produces HDD circuit boards at three locations: Vietnam, Kameyama in Mie Prefecture, and China, and has a pre-shipment inspection base in Thailand.
