Yakult Honsha Offers Free Swallows Crew Membership as Shareholder Benefit for September 30 Record Date
Yakult Honsha will implement a shareholder benefit program with a record date of September 30, offering shareholders who hold at least 100 shares free membership in the official fan club of the Tokyo Yakult Swallows, "Swallows Crew." Those holding 1,000 or more shares will receive regular membership, while those holding at least 100 but fewer than 1,000 shares will receive light membership, with benefits including ticket discounts and merchandise gifts without an annual fee. In its first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company reported sales of 120.46 billion yen (up 3.3% year on year), operating profit of 10.088 billion yen (down 7.5%), and ordinary profit of 15.647 billion yen (down 9.0%), but net profit increased 17.2% to 13.591 billion yen. This was boosted by special gains such as a 5.292 billion yen gain on the sale of investment securities. Excluding the impact of foreign exchange, consolidated sales decreased 1.9% year on year. The proposal by Dalton Investments, which had made a shareholder proposal, was rejected at the June shareholders' meeting, and the stock price closed at 2,875 yen on August 26.
