AIA Group first-half profit surges 13%, interim dividend up 10%
AIA Group announced its first-half 2026 results, with operating profit after tax of 4.163 billion US dollars, up 13% per share, and value of new business reaching 3.212 billion US dollars, up 10% overall, or 14% excluding Thailand. The operating return on annualised embedded value reached a record high of 18.0%, up from 15.8% in 2025, and the annualised return on shareholders' equity reached a record high of 17.5%, up from 15.5% in the prior year. The board approved an interim dividend increase of 10% to 53.90 Hong Kong cents per share, with the group having already returned a total of 3.6 billion US dollars to shareholders in the first half through dividends and share buybacks. Lee Yuan Siong, Group Chief Executive and President, said AIA continues to deliver double-digit growth across all key financial metrics, and the Premier Agency channel remains central, with AIA ranked as the number one multinational company with the most MDRT members worldwide for the 12th consecutive year.
