Skanska AB (publ) operates as a construction and project development company in the Nordics, Europe, and the United States. It operates through four segments: Construction, Residential Development, Commercial Property Development, and Investment Properties. The Construction segment builds social infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, healthcare, and judicial buildings; mass transit comprising rails, subways, and airports; highways, bridges, and tunnels; data centers and advanced tech manufacturing buildings/facilities; energy; defense-related buildings and infrastructure; offices, manufacturing, and other commercial buildings; and residential multifamily buildings. Its Residential Development segment develops and builds single and multifamily homes. The Commercial Property Development segment initiates, develops, leases, and divests in offices, life-science, and logistics and commercial warehouses, as well as residential rental properties. Its Investment Properties segment invests and manages office properties. The company was formerly known as Skånska Cementgjuteriet and changed its name to Skanska AB (publ) in December 1983. Skanska AB (publ) was founded in 1887 and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Skanska signs $68 million medical office building contract with UNC Health

Skanska has secured an additional $68 million contract with UNC Health to build a new medical office building and parking deck in North Carolina. The project, which began in June 2026 and is expected to close in April 2028, includes a six-floor, approximately 17,700-square-meter medical office building and an 890-space parking deck, along with site development, infrastructure, and early equipment. The contract will be included in Skanska's US order booking for the third quarter of 2026.

Skanska Q2 Net Income Rises to 2.57 Billion Kronor

Skanska reported a rise in second-quarter net income to 2.57 billion Swedish kronor from 1.68 billion kronor a year earlier. Earnings per share according to IFRS was 6.17 kronor compared to 4.05 kronor. Segment profit increased to 1.79 billion kronor from 1.53 billion kronor, with segment earnings per share of 4.27 kronor versus 3.69 kronor. Segment operating income grew 17 percent to 2.1 billion kronor. Revenue according to IFRS was 48.03 billion kronor compared to 46.16 billion kronor last year, while segment revenue was 44.56 billion kronor against 44.55 billion kronor, up 1 percent adjusted for currency effects.

Skanska signs USD 325 million contract for Cincinnati convention center hotel

Skanska has signed a contract worth USD 325 million, about SEK 3.0 billion, with a Portman Holdings managed entity to build a new Cincinnati Marriott hotel adjacent to the Convention Center in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The 21-story high-rise will span 61,400 square meters and include 700 rooms, a rooftop terrace, conference rooms, flexible meeting space, ballrooms, ground floor retail, and a skybridge connecting to the convention center and parking areas. Construction begins in June 2026 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2028. The contract will be included in Skanska's US order bookings for the second quarter of 2026.
