LG announced it is developing a next-generation bipedal humanoid robot built using NVIDIA Isaac GR00T, with a public unveiling planned for the first quarter of next year. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding on August 13 at NVIDIA's headquarters in Santa Clara, California, attended by LG Corp Chairman and CEO Kwang Mo Koo and NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang. Under the agreement, LG will validate LG CLOiD wheel-based robots at its washing machine manufacturing line in Tennessee, build AI factory reference sites using NVIDIA DSX and NVIDIA Vera Rubin, and develop a next-generation AI-defined vehicle platform using NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion. The humanoid will be powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor and use NVIDIA Halos for Robotics, while LG plans to leverage capabilities across LG Electronics, LG Innotek, and LG Energy Solution. LG also plans to construct an 80 MW scale LG AI Factory in Cheonan by the first half of 2028.

PHYND, the first fully-free game streaming platform for TVs, has launched its service in beta on LG Smart TVs in the United States. The app is available on LG Smart TVs from 2021 and newer running webOS 6.0 or higher, giving players instant access to a curated catalog of premium games without a console, downloads, or subscriptions. Players can use a compatible Bluetooth gamepad or a mobile phone controller to jump into titles spanning family, action, puzzle, and trivia genres, including Garfield Lasagna Party, Smurfs Kart, and Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile. The launch expands PHYND’s reach across the connected TV ecosystem and aligns with LG’s strategy to grow gaming on webOS through free, ad-supported gameplay. PHYND’s free-to-play model also aims to help developers and publishers reach new audiences at scale.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced strategic artificial intelligence partnerships with six major South Korean companies following a four-day visit. The collaborations span advanced memory chips, humanoid robots, self-driving cars, and massive AI data centers. SK Hynix remains Nvidia's largest memory partner, with procurement expected to rise well above current multi-billion-dollar levels. SK Telecom plans to build a gigawatt-scale AI cloud using Nvidia technology by 2027, while a partnership with LG Group focuses on humanoid robotics and data center infrastructure. Nvidia also intends to build an AI Valley data center in Saemangeum and expand autonomous mobility and AI manufacturing operations after discussions with Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chairman Euisun Chung.
